VBCS is a private Christian school serving Irmo, SC, and the surrounding communities. The mission of VBCS is to teach biblical thinking, train godly character, and develop genuine disciples of Jesus in its student body. VBCS is happy to partner with families that share these goals.

Guiding Principles

The school's colors, blue and gold, represent its guiding principles. Blue stands for the wisdom that comes only from Christ, and gold represents the desire to honor God. These principles form the heart of the school and are articulated in the school verses: “In whom [Christ] are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3) and “Them that honor Me I will honor" (1 Samuel 2:30).

Approach to Education

VBCS believes in Christian education. To us, that means that every subject is viewed through a biblical worldview and the Bible is upheld as the ultimate authority.

VBCS believes in traditional education. This means that our students learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. They can read fluently and know what the Constitution is. We provide a solid core education with accountability for learning.

VBCS believes in character education. This means that our students are taught life principles like honesty, kindness, and diligence from the Word of God and are accountable to a code of conduct that upholds a Christian way of life.
